Olympic Pride? Not For Me

Some people have lost all sense of reality when Singapore won silver in the women’s table tennis.

I mean, don’t take anything away from them. They put in the hours on the table and gym and worked very hard for the games.

But, are you interested in becoming the Chelsea of asia? Let’s be straight up here, we bought that medal. Are you proud of getting the achievement? Not me. I’ll be proud if it’s a Malay/Indian/SingaporeChinese who won the competition.

If you want foreign talent so much, why not naturalise Usain Bolt or Wallace Spearman or Micheal Phelps or Muna Lee or better still, rope Liu Xiang in as well. Geez! We’ll dominate the medal standings at the end of the day! Not only that, Singapore will be the proud owner of Olympic records set by Usain Bolt and Micheal Phelps!

Fact is, we have talented athletes who are interested in being masters in their sport. We’ve got talented sprinters, footballers and what nots. Groom these athletes and send them for competitions.

China’s Olympic Dreams Dashed

He’s bigger than Becks and he’s expected to bring the gold medal home.

Everyone’s talking about his withdrawal from the heats due to injury. They were all shocked and in tears. It was understandable BUT the expectation and pressure on that poor guy is simply ridiculous. I believe that played a huge part in his downfall.

He’ll be 29 when the next Olympics come. Can sprinters compete at that age?

I read with a great deal of interest (as if) about the bad boys behind the counters at Sim Lim Square. If you are a foreigner or a local who has been living in Mars, let me explain to you.

No More Friendster and MySpace

Some of you might noticed that I’m not using Friendster and MySpace anymore. Yeap, I’ve cancelled both my accounts and created one in Facebook. If you want to get to contact or get to know me, the “Find Me Here” section has my Facebook link.
